Overview

Make the most of your vacation by working meaningfully and visiting some of Delhi and Agra’s most stunning historical and cultural sites by becoming a Special Childcare Volunteer with Traveda Tour. This program has essentially been designed for people who are pressed on time but want to serve overseas and make a significant difference. In India, volunteers work in local nurseries. You will organize games, teach songs, play with them and participate in other activities such as crafts and educational and recreational rounds to develop their artistic activities and improve their social skills and creativity.

It would be a fantastic opportunity to visit India with like-minded travellers from other parts of the world, extend your social circle, and receive first-hand work experience. It is suitable for high school and college students, backpackers, and gap year travellers for our well structured childcare volunteer programs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

When you arrive at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, our coordinator will greet you and take you to your hotel. Spend some time unwinding and catching up on sleep. Later you can take a walk around the accommodation or go to the nearby market to change money and get a local SIM card. Delhi is the national capital of India and is visited by tourists from all over the world for its vibrant culture and rich heritage. The rest of the day is free. In the evening, you can explore the colourful and bustling markets of Delhi.

Day 2 Orientation session

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, and stick around for a thorough orientation. Our program coordinator will provide you with your program details and timetable during this session. Volunteers might spend the remaining time on leisure pursuits or elective excursions.

Day 3: Delhi sightseeing

After enjoying a wholesome and delectable breakfast, get ready to explore the capital. In the morning, visit Qutub Minar, one of the oldest monuments in Delhi, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then visit the Lotus Temple, Humayun's Tomb. After lunch, visit the Yogmaya Temple, the mystic delight, and the religiously significant Akshardham Temple in the afternoon. At Akshardham Temple, enjoy a cultural sound and light show that awaits tourists at the exquisite Akshardham Temple.

Day 4 to Day 8: Volunteer with Children in Delhi

For the following week, you will be performing volunteer work in Delhi. Volunteers will work at Street Children or Child Care Project in Delhi. As part of this project, volunteers teach the kids informally, play with them, help them learn new things, and expose them to various new activities.
The volunteers work at the many shelters or contact points maintained by different groups and act as daycare facilities for these homeless youngsters. They can assist by giving them affection, support, primary education, entertainment, and, most significantly, by spending time with them and showing them love.

Day 9: Taj Day Tour Mahal, Agra

Spend your weekend exploring the beautiful city and soak up the old-world vibes. Visit one of the most popular attractions worldwide, the Taj mahal. You will learn about its architecture and the love story of the emperor. Later in the evening, return to Delhi. Transfer to Agra and back will be by car or train, depending on circumstances and the number of travellers.

Day 10: Free day to explore

It is your free day to explore Delhi. You can plan something with your mates, visit the Janpath or Dilli Haat markets, or take the tube to Akshardham! Try local restaurants and indulge in delicious Indian cuisine.

Day 11 to Day 13: Continue Volunteering with Children

You will return to the project site and spend time with the little ones, helping them with their classes. You can also tell them a story and encourage them to do extracurricular activities like music, arts and crafts, etc. Engage them in lessons about health and hygiene and play games with them. Above all, shower them with the utmost love and care.
